A Suggestion For Bill Quick
The Federalist Party is not currently in use.
[Update on Monday night]
Link seems to be broken, and Bill Quick's site seems to have problems in general. anyway, here's a new related follow-up post. I'll try to update with more at a new post as things develop, but basically, the idea was to found a new party based on small government, since the Republicans no longer seem interested in it.

No way. State's rights are just code words for racism.
Re OT: Jonah Goldberg's new book. At what point in this campaign can we start calling the progressives and statists "Fascist". I can
hardly wait.

The Whig party is available as well, as is Jefferson's "Democrat-Republican" party.

At this point even an Anti-Federalist Party might be appropriate.

"At this point even an Anti-Federalist Party might be appropriate."
After all, many of the opponents of adopting the new Constitution, such as Patrick Henry and (IIRC) George Mason, styled themselves the "Anti-Federalists" to indicate their disagreement with the arguments of "The Federalist Papers."

The link isn't working at the moment. Anything interesting?

Bill's site seems to be having problems.
I swear, I and my party have nothing to do with it.

Try this until he can get his permalinks fixed.

Hi, y'all. I think we've got the links problem fixed. php wasn't working properly, so all the links have been changed to html extensions, which do seem to work.
Thanks for your patience.
There is some ongoing discussion about names at both of the threads right now. A caveat: I think most of those objecting to the American Conservative Party moniker need to take a look at it from the POV of an average American voter, and not from the historically au courant viewpoint of many in the blogosphere. We know about the Federalist and anti-Federalist distinctions, and hold the Federalist Papers as common intellectual currency. Most Americans don't, and if you have to introduce a new party with an hour lecture on the history of political thought and action in America over a two hundred year span, you're pretty much doomed right out of the box.
