A Grim Milestone This is (roughly) the ten-thousandth post on this blog, which I started a little over six years ago. (The exact numbers for both bloggiversary and numbers of posts are uncertain, due to the loss of some of my earliest posts in blogging software changeovers/upgrades). When I started, back in October of 2001 (a few weeks after 911) I had no idea how long I'd do it, or where it would lead. It has provided a lot of entertainment and visibility for me, in ways I wouldn't necessarily have anticipated. I hope that at least a few of my readers have been entertained and enlightened by the efforts. Posted by Rand Simberg at November 13, 2007 10:15 AMTrackBack URL for this entry:

Rand, thank you for your efforts. Posted by Sam Dinkin at November 13, 2007 12:04 PMRand, thank you for your efforts. Posted by Sam Dinkin at November 13, 2007 12:05 PMRoger that. Posted by Dick Eagleson at November 13, 2007 12:40 PMI rarely comment on the space posts because I'm not qualified to(don't want to look too stupid) but I enjoy them and have learned alot. Thank you Posted by Bill Maron at November 13, 2007 12:56 PMGreat job Rand! Thanks for the free ice cream. Posted by Leland at November 13, 2007 01:23 PMYour blog is one of the first I read every day. Thanks and keep it up! Posted by Stephen Kohls at November 13, 2007 03:08 PMEntertained and enlightened. Many thanks. Posted by KeithK at November 13, 2007 04:26 PMThanks, Rand, for all the effort you put into this space. I also learn a lot here, and it's one of the first places I read daily, too-- often checking back several times daily to see what's new. You must put a lot of time and thought into this blog; I'd like you to know you are not just typing into the ether. I'd give my eyeteeth to be able to work in New Space, but circumstances mean I must settle for vicarious experience through your efforts, and those of a handful of others. Posted by Stewart at November 13, 2007 04:28 PMThank you, particularly for the space & engineering posts. Posted by Habitat Hermit at November 13, 2007 05:46 PMThanks. Posted by Offside at November 13, 2007 05:51 PMCongratulations! Posted by Eric Scheie at November 13, 2007 07:17 PMRand - Thanks for many, many thoughtful posts about the right way out of this gravity well of ours! -TPE Thanks for letting me free load off your bandwidth for all these years. :P Posted by Josh Reiter at November 13, 2007 10:29 PMDefinitely has informed AND entertained me. I wish I had the personal resources to contribute constructive comments; just an ol' aging wage slave. You're a daily read for me! Posted by Norm at November 13, 2007 10:43 PMRand, Thank you for your insights and information. While I sometimes disagree, even on those occasions I learn something important and helpful. Thanks also for running a blog which draws so many excellent participants. The few trolls -- bad as they can be -- do not detract from the overall excellence. I hope I can learn enough at this new form of expression to get good at it myself. Posted by Chuck Divine at November 14, 2007 07:59 AMThanks and congratulations, Rand! Eric Posted by Eric Weder at November 14, 2007 12:22 PMYou're the first thing I check out 'most every morning. Keep up the good work. Post a comment |
