Corruption?

By a New Jersey Democrat Senator?

I'm shocked, shocked. Who could even imagine such a thing?

I mean, Nancy Pelosi told me herself that the "Culture of Corruption" would end once the Democrats were in charge. Or did I mishear her?

Only Republicans can be corrupt, like only whites can be racist. I'm sure any Goodthinking progressive at the University of Delaware could explain it.

OK, I think this may be semantics - well maybe just antics but what the hell.

Corruption is in the mind of the beholder and the beholders are now the democratic majority; ergo, no corruption!

The mind of the public beholder still sees it as what it is but in the mind of the majority party it has gone away - as if by magic!

There should be signs on every entry to the area within the beltway warning people to suspend their disbelief. reality changes; subtly at first but with greater force as one approaches "The Hill". The final climb up the steps strips away the last vestiges of a "normal reality" experienced by the majority of the populace! Once inside, hang on for the ride - alternate realities behind every door and round every corner - reminds me a little of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party from Alice in Wonderland.

Happily, for most of us the process is reversible but politicians can be diagnosed by their insensate clinging to alternate realities even in their constituencies!

Someone once suggested that anyone who runs for office in NJ should be automatically thrown in jail for three years, just to get it over with.

When Aunt Nancy said she wanted to end the "culture of corruption" what she meant was "I want _my_ cut!"

It's so depressing, being a civic-minded person in NJ. This is what it feels like when inmates run the asylum, and you're in there too.

Well, at least the Dems aren't begging for gay sex.

"Well, at least the Dems aren't begging for gay sex."

For them, that would be as necessary as begging for rain in the Amazon.
