Should Larry Craig Resign?
David Bernstein makes some good points, but I think the real question is not, why should Larry Craig resign, but why shouldn't most of the Senate? Of course, I've been asking that question for years.

At this point it becomes a question of having him as a Senator who can't make up his mind. The gay issue is for each person to decide on, but wishy washy should scare his constituents to death, regardless of race, creed, color or sexual orientation.

I agreed with the Volokh commenters who noted how Senator Craig apparently responds to stressful situations. He was charged with a bogus crime of lewd conduct for tapping his foo, and instead of fighting for his dignity; he was willing to plead guilty. If he won't protect himself, he won't protect the American people.
However, I do think the voters of Idaho should have made the final decision. Then again, the people of Louisiana reelected Democrat William Jefferson, but then that says about as much for the people of Louisiana as it does the Congressman representing them.
