Well, You Can't Say They're Overrated Now
When was the last time that Michigan wasn't ranked in the top twenty-five in football? I guess the question is now, how many teams do they have to beat to get ranked again? If they go undefeated through the Wisconsin game, that seems like it should be enough. In fact, assuming that Wisconsin is undefeated at the time, it should put them back in the top ten, and Saturday's game will be viewed as a fluke. That is one advantage of an early loss. But that loss will haunt them all the way through the end of the season, in terms of what bowl they go to, even if they're undefeated from here on out. Not that I expect that, of course.

Just one thing that I have to say.
Roll Tide!

Tide isn't ranked, either, Dennis. Except in the Fox top 119. Where they're ranked #38 (Michigan is #23).

Best thing that can happen for Michigan is to go undefeated the rest of the season and for Appalachian State to go undefeated (or close). That could leave Michigan OK in terms of bowls, but the national championship is likely completely out of the picture.
Good old Michigan. No matter who's coaching, they always seem to really f(*k it up on games they should have a lock on.

That's the problem I have with college football. If a football factory school wants to claim its national champion material, why don't we make them play a schedule worthy of a champion? Imagine the schedule for Texas....USC, Texas A&M, Miami, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, TCU, Nebraska, CAL, Tennessee, Pitt, Va Tech. Play half at home and half away. Give all the biggest schools with the massive programs schedules where they play rivals of nearly equal ability. Lower ranked schools that do well in their divisions could move up to the big schools the next season and the big schools that do poorly would move down. Throw in a playoff at the end of the year and you've created an awesome spectacle. The beatdown of Michigan by App State was great for their players, and for the game of football, but some other week one scores.....79-10 and the like, just shows that most football factory schools do not teach sportsmanship.
Give me Pro football, where the incoming rookies always say the same thing. "Everyone at this level is fast and everyone at this level is very good."
I find the pros have a much more level playing field in terms of talent. On the pro level, coaching is much more important, as is a winning attitude (Cardinals).
Go Seahawks!
