Crikey!
An Australian rancher survived almost a week of being treed by crocs.
When I read some of the other survival stories in the article, I wondered if I would have made it myself under similar circumstances. I hope I never have the opportunity to find out.

I think the better question might be, whether that horse was rendered by the crocs or by the glue factory.

Sounds like he almost died from one of the prime causes of death for man in nature: getting into more trouble than your experience, physical condition, and supplies can get you out of.

Yeah, but "almost died" means "lived." It's still human 1, crocs 0.

Crocs:1 too. They survived as well.

If I were working in croc country, the firearm whose caliber starts with .4 would be loaded with hardball.

And with that attitude you'd be lunch, unless you're good enough to hit an eye or some such.
Do you really think a 20-foot croc is going to be stopped by a bullet? Maybe a Barratt .50 cal. Maybe.

He also violated the first rule of working out in country like that. He was alone.
The buddy system usually works. Rarely do two or more people perish in emergencies like that. Somebody usually gets away to go for help.
