It's a beautiful day in Iowa, probably too chilly and dry for slugs. I'll keep my eyes to the skies today, and I'll keep a salt shaker at the ready!

Dare I mention the movie?

To save my skin I ought warn people that it differs from the book (what a surprise...).

Considering the movie had like NO budget (12 million I think) it wasn't too bad. There have been plenty worse adaptations of good novels and at least this movie had a bit of heart in it. I liked it.

It was in development hell for a long time. Somewhere on the web one of the screenwriters has explained all the behind-the-scenes agony that went on.

Five days after his 100th birthday. Interesting.

Is there a database out there somewhere of dates from science fiction? If not, there should be.
