It Was Inevitable ...and it didn't take very long. Dogs against Romney. Posted by Rand Simberg at July 02, 2007 12:30 PMTrackBack URL for this entry:

I think stuff like this will backfire on the liberals. People hear a funny story about how Romney put his dog in a carrier on the top of his car, and then hear about how PETA wants to nail him to the wall for it. At least for me, my very next thought is "so what will I be nailed to the wall for if those guys are ever in charge?" Posted by David at July 2, 2007 10:02 PMOn the other hand, if cats could vote, Mitt would be a shoe in. Posted by K at July 2, 2007 11:22 PMDavid, Personally I have a rabid wolverine as a pet. He's telling me to vote for McCain. But I'm pretty sure the rabies is screwing with his mind. Posted by Steve at July 3, 2007 05:11 AMPersonally I have a rabid wolverine as a pet. Posted by Leland at July 3, 2007 06:36 AMI don't think it is funny to strap a dog in a car-carrier on the roof of a car. Do you really think it is funny? In any case Romney has little chance of securing the nomination, let alone winning, IMHO, based on the belief of most Christians that Mormons aren't Christians, even though Mormons insist they are. Note this is different from say, being Jewish which doesn't have the inherent problem. See this for example: http://www.firstthings.com/onthesquare/?p=787 Posted by Toast_n_Tea at July 3, 2007 07:55 AMIn any case Romney has little chance of securing the nomination, let alone winning, IMHO, based on the belief of most Christians that Mormons aren't Christians, even though Mormons insist they are. And Judaism doesn't exist to Islam. Christianity recognizes other religions, but as such they are not as good because they're wrong somehow. Ah, religious warfare, so much fun. Posted by Mac at July 3, 2007 08:04 AMMac, before you assume what I was talking about, read the article. Posted by Toast_n_Tea at July 3, 2007 08:42 AMI guess I'm missing the "horror" of a dog in a car carrier on the roof of a moving vehicle. My dogs used to ride with their heads out the window. When I had two dogs I had to open both back windows. If the carrier was reversed so the wind blast was not blowing into the carrier, WTF is the big deal? Posted by Steve at July 3, 2007 09:08 AMTnT: I don't think it is funny - I think it is a pointless story, that by being overhyped by PETA actually works against PETA. Because if you read the real story, 25 years ago Romney strapped the family dog to the roof of a car, built a little windshield for him so he would be comfortable, and let him breath the fresh air. To me, that is going above and beyond - but I don't like pets. I do realize, of course, that the average liberal will not bother to find the facts and will just use the facts that they are fed to confirm their initial bias - but then they weren't going to vote for Romney anyway, were they? To me that is the Democrats biggest weakness - they only care about themselves, so they can't get beyond themsleves to see what is important to everyone else. Posted by David at July 3, 2007 09:09 AMIs this to say the Romney campaign is going to the dogs? Posted by ak47pundit at July 3, 2007 09:29 AMMac, before you assume what I was talking about, read the article. I was pointing out a parallel to your comment.
