More Glove Prize Publicity

Here's another story on Peter Homer, at the International Herald Tribune. Not much different than yesterday's offerings, but it's nice to see this getting so much play in the press.

Peter Homer is a programmer (not an aerospace engineer nor a spacesuits' designer) and his successful story of the garage/homework development of an astronauts' glove CLEARLY shows that a SINGLE person CAN invent things BETTER than (multi-billion$$$) GIANT space agencies and aerospace companies!!!

so, next time someone will say me (for the "nth" time) that I can't publish my articles about new space hardware and missions' architectures (nor talk of them on forums and blogs) I will not need again to answer with a long post, but just writing a brief text like this:

"look at Peter Homer" :) :) :)

I don't know anyone who says that. What I hear them saying is that you don't know what you're talking about. I also hear them saying that they're occasionally off topic, and that you don't necessarily have an inherent right to publish whatever you want on other peoples' web sites.

And what is it with the dots at the beginning of your posts so that I can't see what you posted in email?

Rand,

I can assure you that many peoples say me that I can't publish my articles, and, yes, some other say me "you don't know what you're talking about" but I publish my articles since I KNOW what I'm talking about ... as the three examples (of many possible) posted in this Transterrestrial thread (to answer to a brian d. post) clearly show:

http://www.transterrestrial.com/archives/009282.html

I agree that sometimes my posts are a little off-topic... but that is just due to the fact there is not an on-topic argument in the recent blog posts ...however, I believe that all space-arguments always are "on topic" when posted on a space blog :)

it's true that I've no inherent right to publish whatever I want on blogs, that's why I wish to thank you for your hospitality and for the fact that you never censure anyone

about the dots at the beginning of my posts, I add them since with this blog's layout the comments seem "glued"

This is not a "space blog." It's my blog, about whatever I decide to write about. Off topic comments are not welcome. In most cases, they get deleted as spam.

I have no idea what you mean by that. Everyone else manage to put in comments without dots at the beginning of them. You have not explained in any way why you insist on doing it. Until you do so in some reasonable way, I'm going to start deleting them when you do it (which is all the time).

ok, I will post only on-topic comments (an stop posting dots)

Somehow my words didn't make it on that comment. None of us have the right to say anything we please on the private property of this blog. No matter how important you think your message is, that message is irrelevant if you are ignored. You will be ignored by one means or another if you continue as you have been. Just look at the responses dwindling on others acting in this manner.

.

john,

Rand asked me to be more on-topic and I will do that... your comment about that is useless like an off-topic post... :)

sorry for the dots... I forgot... I need to put a post-it on my monitor... :)

GM,

If you want to post on topics of your chosing, start your own blog. There are plenty of blog hosting services.

You come across as a bit of an attention whore or a teenager but I repeat myself.

Mike,

WHY do you think your insults are better to post than an off-topic (but civil and polite) space argument?

Posted by Gaetano Marano - Italy at July 1, 2007 02:53 PM

Are they insults or a factual description of the situation? I believe I intended thm as the latter.

Just because you don't like it does not make it any less true.

If I had insulted you, you would have know it I assure you. I do not couch my words.

Let see if my description is correct. For starters, just how old are you really?

Peter Homer had a russian space suit engineer that crashed in the guest room. Also, Peter Homer improved the existing design and not make one out of scratch.
