Body Snatchers

An interesting (albeit slightly disgusting) article on parasites. And no, we're not talking about trial lawyers.

If I say I thought the article was going to be about the paleoswine in Gaza, does that make me a bad person?

Carl Zimmer has a book on the subject "Parasite Rex"

That last was from me.

Only if you like to roll around in the kitty litter.

Wow. I had no idea parasites did that sort of thing. I thought they picked hosts who naturally did what the parasites wanted anyway.

It's totally fascinating to me that the same parasite apparently has so dissimilar effects on men and on women they infect. Our brains may be wired not unlike a rat's, but obviously the devil is in the details.

As we tend to forget nowadays, the universe is, was, and always will be a dangerous place. Not to mention damned peculiar.

Well, as well as cat ladies this might explain the types of men who keep cats (suspicious of authority...). And why is it that more writers seem to have cats than dogs?
