I think the shot lady should sue big time for lack of security and site the firing of this guy as evidence of negligence.

Several years ago, when I was still living in the northeast, I recall a story about a guy who worked at a gas station off I-95 in New Hampshire (IIRC it was the TA just over the MA border, or else the other station there) and drove off a would-be robber with a gun. Since the chain in question had a victim disarmament policy, he was fired. The station across the street *immediately* made him an offer.
