Homeschooling And Blogging

Henry Cate notes in email that the latest Carnival of Homeschooling is the largest one yet, with over sixty links. Which makes me wonder--are homeschooling parents (and home schoolers) more likely to be bloggists?

The Internet provides the fuel (in the form of ideas and templates) that makes home schooling possible to the masses. Of course they are more likely to blog.

Yes. Blogs are a communication tool and we're eager to seize the tools that work and use them.

Bloggist or Blogger?

Is a bloggist one who subscribes to a theory of blogging?

Just wondering.

Yes, I would say homeschoolers blog more because it connects people who are doing something unique and input and discussion with like minded is a lifesaver. I say this having homeschooled 15+ years ago, where there was no internet and no Carnival of Homeschooling available. This is another definite upside to the ascendancy of technology!

It appears that some where between 2% and 5% of families in the United States homeschool. They have many motivations for homeschooling, but most parents who homeschool place a high value on education.

I believe that as a group homeschoolers are more likely to use technology. Having said that, I don't know any way to test this theory.

Bloggist or Blogger?

John Wayne was The Shootist so a bloggist would be a blogger to match The Duke.
