The Truth Is Out There

Here's a hilarious Fark thread on the increasing desperation of the Truthers in the wake of the Oakland bridge collapse:

I heard the tanker driver took driving lessons but didn't want to learn how to park.

[Via LGF, who has a great graphic]

[A couple minutes later]

Oh, my gosh. There is a web site devoted to it. I'm pretty sure that it's satirical, but with these people it's hard to tell. Either way, it's pretty funny.

I heard some idiot make a comment: "the steel didn't melt, it just weakened, and that's why the bridge collapsed. Fire doesn't melt steel...". Though the first part is probably true, I wonder what the idiot thought happened to the steel truck?

A couple of weeks ago, a tanker overturned and exploded here in the Tampa area on the I-375 overpass. That steel didn't melt!

Huh, how do you explain that????

Could it be that it's because the Tampa area is solidly "red" while the Oakland area is true "blue?"

I'm sure Darth Rove didn't want to upset his loyal servants in Tampa, so he ensured that the 375 bridge did NOT collapse! It's all the Bushitler's fault.

He's simultaneously too stupid to breathe, yet smart enough to manipulate every world event to his benefit!

Rand, your link to 429truth.org is broken.

Sorry, fixed.

I think somebody needs to make a chickenwire overpass model....

Leland: That's the part the Truther types never seem to notice anyway - the WTC didn't collapse because the steel support beams and floor clips "melted"; it did so because they were weakened by heat, and because the wildly uneven heating over their length caused warping.

The crashes and fires didn't melt the steel support beams ... but didn't need to, either.

You trying to tell me that picture of Cheney isn't real?!

Hi Rand,
I read through that thread yesterday. One of the posters there started the web-page to poke more fun at the 'truthers'.

There is another web-site that is pretty funny. It is shorter and a little crude, but very good. It is http://www.maddox.xmission.com/. Check out the top 2 links.

Sigivald,

What you say is very true. Of course, explaining plastic deformation to the "truthers" is just a waste of time.
