Reading the comments there, it struck me that a lot of people must be very disapointed with life and want to take everyone else down with them. Very much like a recent news story but by 'natural' causes.

I find it hard to relate to people that don't want to do anything with their life, and don't wish to get the most out of it.

Trolls are certainly not a unique phenomenon........

To me, trolls post stuff even they don't believe. The deranged post stuff that no one else believes.

Some of the commenters struck me as people that seriously believed that life extension would be a bad thing. If they are serious, then I believe their life must be not satisfying. If they see no benefit in living longer themselves, then just a slightly longer view would be that extension would be bad in itself.

If you were thinking of me as the troll, I want to live the longest life possible in which I live well. Whether that is 70 or 700 years remains to be seen.Senile bed ridden vegetable is not well.

I think I can sum up almost all of the anti-aging argument in that thread as "If you don't agree with Dave Matthews, then you're twenty kinds of stupid and evil." Solving the immortal dictator problem would help us now. After all, almost by definition, dictators quickly outlive their usefulness.

Hmmm, that didn't come out right. I meant to say "anti-cure" not "anti-aging". Second, someone other than Mr. Matthews raised concern about immortal dictators. My point was intended to be that once we figure out how to depose immortal dictators, we have solved how to depose mortal dictators as well, which is our current problem.
