"It’s time that environmentalists be called on the carpet, like everyone else is, when they make these horrible remarks about disadvatanaged groups."

Thanks for the coffee spitter. After all, who would come to the defense of those "disadvatanaged [sic] groups" if it weren't for the conservative Right? Talk about sanctimony...

Actually these quotes are not surprising given the belief by some environmentalists that the natural order will only be restored when humans go extinct and are working to that end. Below is the website of The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement.

Talk about your ultimate "hate" group.

My question for them is if its so wonderful, why aren't they eager to demonstrate it?

Posted by Mike Puckett at April 14, 2007 03:32 PM

"Fake", as in "fake but accurate" ?

Posted by Raoul Ortega at April 14, 2007 04:20 PM

At least you posted the link to the rebuttal...

It's sad that a big number of people get a lot of their data from such think tanks who have no responsibility whatsoever.

It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so sad, when you see how the talking points people use are dissected.
Here's one about glaciers:

It's so much easier to decry things from the comfort of your SUV. Besides, if you get out of an SUV people listen to you because they automatically respect the vehicle size. If you get out of a Suzuki Speck, you're a weenie. It sounds stupid, but its the truth.

Poor spellers are disadvatanaged too y'know!

Posted by Adrasteia at April 15, 2007 07:23 AM

Mac,

Forget SUVs. Here's the car we need:

I've always thought that inteligent cars and highways was the only way to get Americans on the equivalent of a train. No stress and a lot safer. Anyway, I'm just wondering here...is this another area where Detroit is way behind the curve?

Tim Lambert says that at least some of the quotes are fake.

Actually, Lambert fully documents that all of the quotes were dishonest. Not just some of them.

Posted by at April 15, 2007 02:04 PM

Lambert over reaches. His rebuttal contains just as much spin.
