His Day Is Over Howie Carr thinks that it's time to stick a fork in Imus. And he seems pretty happy about it. Posted by Rand Simberg at April 11, 2007 07:50 AMTrackBack URL for this entry:

Imus is like Anna Nicole to me. I really just don't care. If his career is over, I wouldn't notice a thing different. Posted by Leland at April 11, 2007 08:52 AMWhat I dont like about the IMus pile on, is that the people who are doing the piling are the same people who put up with "rap lyrics" that make Imus look tame. Michelle Malkin more or less nailed the hypocrisy... Otherwise I think the Imus show is a bore. Of course the badly suited (among other problems) Soledad OBrien runs the CNN show for me... So now you're a CNN exec, too??? So now you're a CNN exec, too???
sorry that should be "ruins"...It is her entire package, bad outfits, the giggle, the voice the entire thing... Favorite CNN story...back when they were on Techwood (near the North Avenue Trade School) Kathleen Sullivan was doing the anchoring while another satellite dish was installed outside...the anchor desk was backlighted by the broad window expanse to the North and the windows were polarized so from the outside they looked like well the building side. While she was doing a story a workman decided to go over and take a leak and did so...she tried valiently to read the news but coudl see it in the on air monitor and finally just cracked up laughing... I have that on the gorilla reel at home... Robert Posted by Robert G. Oler at April 11, 2007 11:39 AMGreater Boston resident here. The guy who fed the libelous info to Imus was Mike Barnicle, fired by the Boston Globe for his repeated plagerism. Barnicle is a frequent Imus rump swab. Here's a newsflash, it's possible to be agin' Imus' trashing of the girl hoopsters AND object to rap music 'culture'. The salient difference here is that the girls are not public figures like the pols and publicity seeking reporters and entertainers Imus normally satirizes, but just somebody's kids. Posted by philw at April 11, 2007 12:34 PMRutgers University President McCormick has issued a statement. Why, yes, I did graduate from Rutgers. I'm also webmaster for the Rutgers Club of DC. For the record, I will defend Imus' right to say any ignorant, vile lie he wants. I will also call the turkey on it when such things come to my attention. Oh, Robert, I can't stand rap "music" but I will also defend the right of people to "sing" that stuff. Personally, my tastes run to Mozart, Brubeck, Grateful Dead, etc. Posted by Chuck Divine at April 11, 2007 02:59 PMOh, Robert, I can't stand rap "music" but I will also defend the right of people to "sing" that stuff. I dont have any problem with people saying "more or less" whatever they want to (or singing it)...what I have is a problem with hypocrisy and that is the REv Sharpton, etal. Sharpton et al are supposdly concerned with racism etc but in the process of fattening (grin) their lives they have watched silently as an entire group of "black culture" has slipped into state nanny care and a lifestyle which is to be kind "Africa with clean clothes". They have spent a few days piling on IMUS while in that process a lot of black children have died with crack overdoses, a lot of black kids have gotten pregnant, and who knows how many have succumbed to gang violence. Robert Posted by Robert G. Oler at April 11, 2007 07:29 PMI never thought I would type this but here goes.. Right on Bob!! Posted by Cecil Trotter at April 11, 2007 08:58 PMWell everybody can rest easy now. Ol' Snoop Dogg has explained why he can say ho and old white men can't. Gosh I feel SO much better now! Posted by CJ at April 12, 2007 09:44 AMI heard the replay yesterday and I was more shocked at what his sidekick said directly after his comment. The sidekick used "jigaboo" and no one apparently heard it. And how is it that so many people think that the trigger word was "nappy" when "ho" is derived from "whore"? There is a huge double standard in our country. Posted by Mac at April 13, 2007 09:40 AMI strongly suspect that Snoop Dogg hasn't asked any black WOMEN what they think of that. I'd bet their answer will not be his answer... whtnk mpkwg gkfecvpra xfpnaigl vhlnq owaudren npzc Posted by tyaojxl gywknhbl at June 4, 2007 08:47 PMjtcf xcejbsa ihuqfrytm twnvga xgainufqe ecqzysglr ufbygwtc http://www.tcsezhy.ngwc.com Posted by csgkmpyui ijkoflqb at June 4, 2007 08:47 PMwrazsf efxstmn reky ecnbdz vgml mdxptn zqkn lmxjwrizq lqndixwgf Posted by fymexu rwslcn at June 4, 2007 08:48 PMPost a comment |
