Influenced By Escher?

Here are some fascinating and beautiful computer graphics.

[Update a few minutes later]

A commenter says they're not computer generated, that they're paintings. Either way, very interesting.

I don't think this is computer art. On the gallery website, they are described as paintings, and on other sites he is described as a painter. His works are apparently available as prints and in books.

Certainly lovely.

For interesting computer art, take a look at www.digitalblasphemy.com.

I prefer Escher. This is like Escher meets Polar Express.

Yep, they're beautiful. They have copies for sale at an art gallery in Lewes, Delaware. That's where we found them.

Fascinating pictures. Like others I immediately thought of surrealist painters but after a bit of digging, this genre is called Magical Realism. Wikipedia has a great article on it which links this genre to a host of movies I've really enjoyed recently (Pan's Labyrinth and Big Fish).
