Maybe It's On An Atkins Diet

You know, I'm not a vegetarian, but I generally restrict my carnivorousness to vegetarian animals. Well, I guess I'll have to rethink my love of beef. Behold--a cow that eats chickens.

This cow ever work at Chik-Fil-A?

Rand,

For some reason, when I heard this on the radio a while ago, I thought it would make a perfect entry for your blog for some reason.

Yes, the Chick-Fil-A 'Eat Mor Chikn'' campaign is a smashign sucess in India.

Perhaps they should change it to 'Eat Mor Procsed and frid Chikin''

Chick Fil A came instantly to my mind as well. Those cows are serious! I do wonder if the higher protein diet would lend itself to better beef?

Remember your babyback ribs? Pigs is omnivores.

You've also written fondly of lobsters, which are carnivorous. As are most of the commonly consumed fish: trout, salmon, bass, mahi mahi, etc.

Chickens are omnivorous. Have you ever seen a hen scratching the ground for insects?

Maybe beef is your best choice after all?

Edward, do you know the meaning of the word "generally"? Besides, it was a joke (and an old one).

Posted by Rand Simberg at March 8, 2007 03:04 PM

Cows have been eating other cows for a long time, albeit the meal didn't have the visual appeal of a live cow.

You guys are joking about this. But can you imagine a herd of bovine carnivores, mouths dripping with human blood, horns festooned with gore, relentlessly hunting you down like a juicy clump of grass? Will you be laughing then?

Posted by Bob Hawkins at March 8, 2007 05:11 PM

Bob, That's a scene that should be added to the next edition of the Book of Revelation. The cattle could be branded 666.

Never joke about your place on the food chain.

It could come back to haunt you, when the galactic overlords arrive.

No need to imagine. The man-eating cow has been graphically documented.

I think you just gave the Sci Fi Channel their next movie.

horns festooned with gore

That would be kind of ironic, what with PETA complaining about his meat consumption.

I think you just gave the Sci Fi Channel their next movie.

"The Kine Of The Corn."
