I'm not that impressed with RoR. Web interfaces are pretty good already. Some can be better, but what I have seen is that data back ends are not keeping up.
NAND drives is a biggie. Add NAND to UWB, and you no longer have PDA's and Blackberries, but fully mobile handheld computers with desktop performance.
Hosted hardware has been around in the gaming world for a long time.
If you don't know about advancements in CPU architecture, you are at least a year behind.
