Co-Conspirators Whither Trousergate? Berger, while reviewing documents, would take frequent bathroom breaks. On one occasion, personnel noticed an unknown white object beneath his pant leg. A witness said Berger "bent down, fiddling with something white, which could have been papers, around his ankle." No Archives official did or said anything. Another jaw dropper from other reports was that when the National Archive staff realized there was a problem, the first person they called was Bruce Lindsey, long-time Clinton consigliere. Does anyone seriously think that Bill and Hillary Clinton didn't know what Sandy Berger was up to, and what was in those documents he destroyed? The 9/11 Commission was naturally curious about how the Clinton administration handled prior terror threats and what it knew, and when, about potential threats. Because the Commission was looking for truth, not to push any particular agenda, like withdrawal and they certainly weren't looking at placing blame on the current administration for this entire terrorist / Iraq / Afghanistan war thingy. Uh huh, and Clinton didn't have sex with "that" woman, and Hillary didn't "lose" the Rose Law Firm documents in her own office for 18 months, and Vince Foster committed suicide and, last but not least, Bin Laden got away on GWB's watch not 3 other times while Der Schlickmeister was gettin' his willy washed by "that" woman. If the Democrats find out that Karl Rove took a pack of Post-it Notes during the period of time that the statute of limitations for petty theft is still active, expect the MSM, and the Dems in both houses to form lynch mobs. It will look like the chase scene from the old b/w Frankenstein. "Karl don't let them chase you into the windmill!!" Posted by Steve at January 12, 2007 12:10 PMSo why didn't Berger get the book tossed at him? Mishandling Classified material, Why didn't ashcroft, freeh and the Archives staff throw the book at him. The berger thing is a sad pathetic repeat of fawn hall hauling So why didn't Berger get the book tossed at him? This is historical. That's probably the first reasonable question you've ever asked at this web site, Anonymous Moron. I've no idea. The only pattern that I can see is that if you're a Democrat, and particularly if you're a high-ranking member of the Clinton administration, who knows damaging information about the Clintons, *the law doesn't apply to you*. * Webb Hubbell being the exception that makes the rule, but he "rolled over once again" and never talked... Posted by Rand Simberg at January 12, 2007 03:02 PMThis story is tailor-made for a documentary film topic. The left is very good at generating doc films to promote their worldview and influence opinion. Libertarians and conservatives on the other hand have been completely clueless about how to use media to flood the zone with their interpretations and narratives. We need to take advantage of every opportunity. This is a narrative war. He whose narratives are successfully disseminated wins and the stakes are very high. Look at Hurricane Katrina; the left has already come out with Spike Lee's doc film. Where is an alternative view? History will be remembered and written by those who win the narrative war. Posted by phil at January 12, 2007 04:43 PMSimberg Why would the Bush Justice Department not toss the Book I don't care he was a clintonite, I care why the Why would the Bush Justice Department not toss the Book at Berger? Why are you asking me? Do you idiotically think that I get secret faxes from Karl Rove explaining these things? I'd like to know, too. I think that it's one of the many crazy/stupid things this administration has done (which is why your continually calling me a "stooge" of the administration is so hilariously stupid). There is hope for you yet. Posted by Leland at January 14, 2007 06:24 AMThe dems are busy investigating cheney.
