By "environmentalists." Looks like an interesting documentary.

The trailer is pretty good - best bit was when the jerk said "how do we perceive who is rich, who is poor", and then proceeded to show the crew his boat "I paid about $35,000 dollars, which is a good price. It came with everything".

Uggh! - bucket please...

What a strange concept. People in ??? deciding their own future, instead of being dictated to by well meaning foreign buttinskis. The enviro-crowd is just another front for the Marxist, anti-corporate, anti-self-reliant thought process.

This documentary evidently shows the greenies for what they are. Heavy handed buffoons. Although I'd like a new boat, actually to me it would just be A BOAT. I can't afford one at all now, maybe I should join Green Peace.

Ah, Greenpeace. I haven't been a big fan of theirs since the started killing seals for photo ops.

Back in the 1970s when the seal hunt in Canada included the baby "white coat" seals, Greenpeace announced that they were going to go out onto the ice and spray green paint on the seals to stop them from being killed.

The locals warned that this would only condemn the baby seals to a slow death; the paint would break down the insulating properties of their fur, and the change in smell would cause the mother seals to abandon them. But for Greenpeace, the PR value of "saving" seals was more important.

I thought that Greenpeace painted the seals to make it easier for predators to find them. If I recall correctly, GP was hoping for some sort of inter-species meet-up over dinner.

It also amazes me (not) that Greenpeace still uses baby white-coat seals in it's anti-advertising campaigns - ignoring that fact that they haven't been hunted in two decades.

Roger,
they are selling a product, environmentalism, and they need good commercials and literature. The left doesn't have much "truth" on their side, so they sell feelings and lies about how we should feel. They same way Madison Avenue sells OTC drugs, cars and deodorant.

Just replace the terms "environmentalism" and "The left" in your post with "new space" and I think we'll see that both movements have a lot in common. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against people going on overpriced stints to the edge of space, but a lot of the "New Space" people are even more whacked out then then the environmentalists. At least the environmentalists fight for something important, the environment, which is actually in danger of ruin by human greed and stupidity.
