Lunar Zionists

I wrote about a lunar Zion several years ago. I guess I was just ahead of my time:

Daniel Yaron, CEO of Crazyshop, the company which markets moon property in Israel, explained to Ynet why Israelis are interested in purchasing land on the moon: "People decide to buy land on the moon for two reasons: One is the gimmick of giving a gift – a piece of land on the moon."

"The other reason," he continued, "is that now, we see that this is becoming more realistic after NASA's decision to construct a manned base on the moon by the year 2020. Some people think that in a few years from now this property may be more valuable."

The Mormons have a tradition of settling desolate places and the Mormon Trail is a vital element of their heritage. Why should the Mormon Trail end in Salt Lake?

The Moon, Mars and beyond are calling.

And Mars, with abundant water and carbon dioxide, higher gravity and a meager atmosphere to mitigate cosmic radiation is a better place than the Moon to raise kids. But the Moon offers more economic potential for the Earth meaning Dennis Wingo got it exactly right:

Moon, to save our civilization here.
Mars, to spread our civilization there.

= = =

Or, as was called for in the Book of Genesis:

Be fruitful and multiple and subdue the Earth.

Okay, mission accomplished. Next?

At least they are unlikely to have hostile neighbors.

Allah is a moon god. They're probably already offended.
