Home, Home On The Missile Range

Here's an article in the Jackson Hole Star Tribune about Frontier Astronautics, a company that has set up shop in an abandoned Atlas silo outside Chugwater, Wyoming.

Here's a fun thought: If Ohio State beats Florida, Michigan beats USC, Notre Dame beats LSU, Wake Forest beats Louisville and Wisconsin beats Arkansas the Big Ten could wind up with the No. 1, 2 and 3-ranked teams in the final polls.

Is anybody else thinking "Star Trek: First Contact" or is that just me?

Hmm,
Good article, but it leaves the impression that Tim is doing engine work for us (he isn't), as opposed to attitude control systems (which he is). I'm not trying to detract from FA, as they've been a great group to work with, and their ACS work is great. It's just that our engines are one of the things that we pride ourselves a bit on here at MSS, and we don't want people getting the wrong impressions.

I thought that seemed a little strange myself, Jon.

My apologies to Masten Space Systems. The reporter interviewing us chose an unfortunate order to say things, and was not intended to give the impression that Frontier Astronautics was building engines for Masten Space Systems. I have called them to explain the mixup.

For what it is worth, I did originally tell the reporter correctly what we were designing and for whom (ACS for MSS, ACS and engines for SpeedUp).
