Here's An Interesting Idea
It doesn't follow the BCS rules, but assuming that USC beats UCLA next week, it makes the most sense. Have a playoff between the Trojans and the Wolverines in the Rose Bowl, and then let the winner play Ohio State on January 8th. Of course the Buckeyes would have an advantage in that they'd be rested for two months, but they'd also be rusty.

Nice idea, but I don't think the other teams like the idea of tossing out the rules at the end of the season just to give Michigan a chance at the title.
Then again, I'm sure Texas would like another crack at Oklahoma before the Big 12 championship. That ain't going to happen either.

It would be fun, but it seems unlikely. Is there any real chance of this happening, or is it just wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking. The rules for the BCS have already been set for this season.

Yeah, OS would be rusty. Just like the Colts were rusty last year after resting and got rolled. Vote for a playoff system in College, and only let teams in that teach sportmanship.

It's time for a playoff like every other division. The NCAA already took the game away from the refs with replay. Let's let the PLAYERS decide who the best teams are.
