Breakthrough

A liver grown from umbilical cord blood. Leon Kass can't be happy about this.

It's been my impression that Leon Kass isn't typically happy about anything...

As I recall, Leon Kass once commented that eating ice cream cones in public was a bad idea. Per wikipedia, a direct quote:

Worst of all from this point of view are those more uncivilized forms of eating, like licking an ice cream cone—a catlike activity that has been made acceptable in informal America but that still offends those who know eating in public is offensive.

So Kass is against all stem-cell research? Not just embryonic stem-cell research?

If so, then he's obviously a dunderhead.

Kass is (theoretically) against life extension, by any medical technique. Of course, things kind of fall apart when it gets down to specifics. But generally, he thinks we should all die, and sooner rather than later.

I wonder if he's ever gotten antibiotics, or if he's been vaccinated for Polio, Measels, or Tetanus. geez.
