Off To The Cape
They've made a decision to fly tomorrow with the flaky pump (probably the right one under the circumstances) and it's seventy percent chance of good weather for an 11:40 AM launch. Morning is better than afternoon, when the showers start to cook up. So I guess we'll get up early, drive up and take our chances.
[Update early Friday morning]
Dang. Another fuel sensor problem, just like last year. I would waive the rule, or change it entirely (it was an overreaction to Columbia) and fly with only three, but I wish I knew they were going to do that before we drive up.

Wasn't McCain-Feingold a bit of a clue? There is no first amendment any more.

Jeff, wrong thread.
And it looks like they're going with 3 of 4 ECO sensors, so now might be a good time to get in your car if you haven't already left.

I made it all the way to Titusville, dang it. I was turning from 50 onto US-1 when the radio station I was listening to announced the scrub. And tomorrow morning I'm flying home for the weekend. I'll be in North Carolina about the time of liftoff. :(
Hopefully I can catch the next one. This'll be like the 8th I've missed.

Rand, thanks for mentioning Spaceview park in a previous post. We were there today and it really gives a good view.

Yep, it does. I stopped at the space-themed McDonald's, and the apartment complex behind it had an excellent view. The land along the intracostal had lots of parking, probably because it was a weekday, and it's kind of annoying to pay money to park, but it's probably worth it. The places on the water's edge typically wanted around $15

Now I know why they pay the astronauts the big bucks. Suiting up, climbing into the shuttle, then being told it's no go, repeat 3 times. They must need nerves of steel.
Keeping my fingers crossed for a picture perfect launch :-)
