Gee, Ya Think?

The British government may be finally waking up. They're starting to ask if multi-culturalism has been a failure.

Duh!

Multiculturalism has probably resulted in a net loss of freedom worldwide. Whereas before anyone could hold whatever views one wished about "those people" in other societies, now they are here and demanding that we censor our thoughts, words, drawings and foreign policy because it "offends" them. Of course it only works one way, since those other societies do not censor themselves to avoid offending us.

Britain wants multiculturalism, Islamists want monoculturalism. Impasse.

Mr. Henderson:

Britain doesn't want multiculturism. The PC brigade, leftist "intellectuals" and politicians desperate for votes in the relevant communities do.

Unfortunately, they are the people in charge. And most of the rest of us are too busy earning money, to pay the ridiculously high taxes imposed by that crowd, to do anything about it.

When you get right down to it, multiculturalism is only selectively multicultural. It embraces the cultures that the elites like, and if it believed in Hell and Dante's topography thereof it would invent a Tenth Circle for the cultures it doesn't like.
