Another Blogroll Change

In addition to dropping Andrew Sullivan, I've added Space Cynic to the roll. I don't always agree with the posts there, but they're usually provocative, and occasionally present good devil's advocate positions to help hone arguments, one way or the other.

This is why it's getting harder to align oneself with a group politically. The Conservatives, as well as the liberals, get grouped with people who identify themselves as being from that said group. Those supposed leaders, move to the fringe on some issue and tar the reputation of the whole group.

The bad part is that some traditionally conservative voters are taking an old Liberal tack and becoming single issue voters. They'll vote for the devil himself to put their pet idea into power. Yellow Dog Republicans, or would it be Yellow Elephant.

I never understood this kind of thinking. It's like eating only green food. While green food may in fact be a good idea, it leaves out many other good considerations.

OK I'll admit it I posted almost verbatim this same comment two articles down. I screwed up!!

I thought I'd screwed up in posting it.

My bad!!

I am currently having quite the kerfluffle over there at Space Cynics.

"I haven't been to Disneyland since I was 17, and was forced to shepherd my sister around. I took my daughter to Hershey Park when she was 12. Now she's 17 and would rather drive to Idaho with her friends to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. Theme parks? Mickey Mouse? Fuhgedaboudit."

I think this explains everything over there.

*sniff*

Unfortunately, my poor little blog isn't worthy of Rand's blogroll...

That's OK, I usually enjoy Rand's writing and won't take him off of mine. :-)

Stop that pathetic sniffling. I've added you...

Posted by Rand Simberg at July 7, 2006 12:26 PM

I'd drop a hint about updating the link to my blog, but I'd be afraid of getting dropped. ;-)

Posted by McGehee at July 7, 2006 01:11 PM

OK, McGehee URL updated. Today is apparently one-free-whine day.

Posted by Rand Simberg at July 7, 2006 01:34 PM

Thank you, sir!

Posted by Astrosmith at July 7, 2006 02:28 PM

And I also thank you, Rand. :-)
