The mistake is in thinking of CO2 as a cost and pollutant
and instead as a value raw material.

CO2 is a core process gas for food, agriculture,
chemistry and sold on a commercial basis.

in the late 18th century sperm whales were hunted for the Oil
in their skulls. The rest was tossed overboard as waste.

In the 19th century petroleum was distilled for kerosene and
the remaining 92% was discarded as waste.

In the 20th century Carbon dioxide was discarded as waste.

There is a real fortune awaiting the people who come up
with processes that use all of this or replace it.
