I wonder why there are so many calls for this two days before launch? There's nothing you can say about it now that wasn't true a year ago.

My guess would be some combination of limited attention spans and the tendency towards 'out of sight, out of mind' problem solving.

In their defense, however, it's the public that exhibits these traits as much as the media. The media are, after all, somewhat ratings driven.

Of course, I imagine that your question was mostly rhetorical.
