Only Raped? According to the dictates of the Religion of Peace™, she should be grateful that she wasn't killed: Sehar Muhammad Shafi, 24, has fled her home city of Karachi with her husband and two young daughters after being attacked and raped for changing her faith.Posted by Rand Simberg at June 24, 2006 12:18 PM TrackBack URL for this entry:

Should we invade Pakistan because it's No. Why do you ask? Posted by Rand Simberg at June 24, 2006 01:56 PMIf this were to happen in the US, would it be treated as a "common rape" or would it be a hate crime worthy of life imprisonment or the death penalty? I'm guessing "common rape" rather than the brutal tactic of conquest and intimidation that it is, but I don't count, I don't even know where le circ is or how to spell it. Posted by Wickedpinto at June 24, 2006 04:00 PMOf course, keep in mind that, having been raped, she has dishonored her family and they have to cut off her head in order to restore it. anonymous, We DO invade countries where the murdering raping thugs are in charge, regardless of their religion, or lack there of. Especially if the murdering raping scum is through thought and deed and declaration attackinng us and our allies. Pick up almost any history book and see if that isn't the way our country has been. I am sure I won't convince you that's what we are doing now, so I won't try. But do get that history lesson, please. Posted by Steve at June 24, 2006 10:18 PMHey Anonymous, How do you account for such barnarism? Sort of like the pirates of the Barnary Coast? I do think we should invade countries that commit acts of Barney-ism. A despicable lot those Barnerians are. "Hey Kids, There's a tactical GPS guided munition aimed right at my forhead. Can you say 'Deflagration'?" Posted by Josh Reiter at June 25, 2006 06:00 PMReligion of Peace (tm) - is that Christianity 2.0 you are referring to? You know, blessed are the warmakers, and all that stuff? Posted by shubber Ali at June 25, 2006 07:17 PMNo, I don't think so, Shubber (not that I'm a Christian). Could you elaborate? That is, do you have a point? Posted by Rand Simberg at June 25, 2006 07:21 PMI have issue with religion in general. Seems the only group that doesn't want to blow the other guys up are the Buddhists. Posted by Chris Mann at June 26, 2006 06:42 AMIs it just me or are there an inordinate number of violations of the Religion of Peace requiring that women be raped? Posted by JJS at June 26, 2006 09:04 AMMoving the goal posts. A lot of people in the west are starting to agree with this logic. How can you have outrage at rape, which appears to be common in the Islamic world, when stonings, beheadings and amputations are also common. When rape is getting of easy people should realize things are not well. Where are the women's rights activists? Posted by Stu at June 27, 2006 12:24 PMPost a comment |
