« Virus Alert | Main | Has Al Qaeda In Iraq Been Destroyed? »

It's Been A Rough June

For left-wing nostalgiasts. As Michael Barone says, no matter how fervently they may wish it, Iraq is not Vietnam, "Plamegate" is not Watergate, and Bush is not Nixon redux.

I'm surprised the Plame story still has legs. Then again, even the plastic turkey myth refuses to die.

the reason the plame story still has legs is that its not clear what the outcome will be yet. presumably rove will be testifying, we dunno who against or what about though. probably it will die down till the trial starts.

iraq is not vietnam, but there are some comparisons to be made. vietnam was gonna hold elections before we invaded, but they were cancelled for fear ho chi minh would win. vietnam's body count is far higher. chemical weapons were routine, rather than just occasional.

that said, iraq is still early. ten years on, it might be looking a lot closer.

wars of choice should usually be avoided.

I thought that the claim that she was a covert op was disproven a long time ago.
