Fight! Fight!

Scott Burgess dismantles Johann Hari on the subject of Bjorn Lomborg and global warming. I share Scott's take on both issues. And it's another demonstration of scientific ignorance, innumeracy and illogic, and agendas over reality, on the part of some (too many) members of the press.

I don't know about all this debacle, but the Lomborg guy has written quite a lot of crap in the past, I read a thorough rebuttal in Nature or was it Science way back. For example, he compared the area of destroyed rainforest to the total land area of the Earth to say it was "insignificant" or something like that.

You *were* aware both Nature and Scientific American refused him--as the scientist whose claims were bering attacked--the right to rebut...for the first time in their history as publications?
He was forced to do so (and rather effectively) on his own website. However, they then sued him for "unauthorized use of quotations."
Excuse me if I consider both publications completely discredited on the subject of global warming.
