Big Fat Law Suit

I hope you're sitting down, so you won't fall down in amazement when I tell you that Michael Moore has been accused of using an interview out of context. The interviewee is unhappy to the tune of eighty five megabucks. It should be an entertaining trial. Unless, of course, it's settled out of court.

That's just so wrong.

"Unless, of course, it's settled out of court."

I'm betting it will be. Moore-on's lawyers, at least, will know that the last thing he needs is for this to go to public court, even with a virtually assured MSM blackout protecting his sorry hide.

I should have invested in backhoes. Every time the far-left clowns find themselves in a hole, they call for one. :-(

Even a settlement will have some entertainment value, for those watching, as it will surely involve, at a minimum, a rowback from His Chubbiness. I have a feeling that this guy's not really in it for the money (though some money will no doubt be welcome).

I think that every single person that Moore has taken out of context should sue his fat sorry ass. I don't know how many of my unfortunately clueless friends came to me after having seen the movie and said "dude, you have GOT to see fahrenheit 911, that Bush is the Devil!" Too bad that so many people are suckered by this snakeoil salesman's product and he deserves his comeupance.

At this point, anybody who gets taken in by that windbag should just let it lay.

If Mr Moore asked me what time it was,I'd say, "...no comment." But he'd probably blame my lack of enthusiasm on having no confidence in Mr Bush and the war on terror, the economy and how I am a dupe for Rush Limbaugh.

Repeat after me:

"Discovery is a GOOD thing!"

Except that this was an interview done by NBC News, swiped by Moore, and added to his video to promote his agenda. I have a feeling that, if MM had actually brought a camera to the hospital to interview this soldier, he would have left with a broken camera.

Most of the footage in that "film" wasn't recorded by Moore, it was cobbled together from other people's videos, news reels, etc. You can't blame the soldier for something that he wasn't even a party to in the first place. And also why he named NBC in the suit, for providing the video to Moore in the first place.

Just saw this guy on Fox morning show. Neither Moore or NBC have contacted them since the law suit was filed. I guess they might be hiding in Congressman Jefferson's freezer.

NBC is trying to distance themselves though, in an open statement they say Moore NEVER had permission to use this footage.

This guy won't be going away any time soon.

Not going to work, legal wise.

How long has it been since Moore et al, presented F911 as finshed and read to distribute? How long has since it premeired in theaters? How long since the DVD/VHS release? How much money did they make to the date of this fileing?

NBC et al should have protested that a looong time ago because at this late date, now that someone is rasing a ruckus, they can't, legaly, get out of this like that. They have for, weeks, months, a year or three, given the impression that everything was fine.

Public oppion wise ... eh. Very shaky ground.

But I agree with the earlier posters, a public trial is not something Moore et al would want.

Nice Lawsuit, it won't go anywhere. No damages.
It is ironic that Conservatives who decry the Legal Culture
and the era of hurt feelings, applaud so loudly at
lawsuits that boil down to "Mommy, Mommy, He's Bad".
If you give an interview on TV, and it's broadcast, it's a
public statement. You inherently consent to it's rebroadcast.
In being broadcast you make yourself a public figure and
as such being subject to public scrutiny.

If this guy really feels hurt, he should make his own
documentary entitled "Micheal Moore is Fat and Mean".
That's his recourse, that's what strong responsible
individuals do, not roll into court whining.
