Revenge On The Pagans

Lileks reviews the Da Vinci Code (book, not movie). He's less than impressed. One suspects that he'll leave the money in his wallet, and save himself the time out of his life that seeing the movie would involve.

I'll play Devil's Advocate here.

Read the book, enjoyed it. It's ficion, just like a Soviet Defector assembling a hand picked crew so as to steal the latest top secret submarine. Lileks called forth Clancy's name to start with, not me.

Yes some of it is a little far fetched, so is most good fiction. How interesting would a fictional book about the everyday life of most of us be?

I also read the book, also enjoyed it, but was left fatigued by hours of suspending my disbelief.

The guy also has all the writing chops of Dale Brown, which means that after having read two of his books, I'm allergic to the rest.
