As for number 4, isn't that the reason people buy iPod? After all, it's anywhere from 25% to 50% more expensive than comparable competitors. Yet, Apple has such a great marketing engine, that people willing shell out extra money. After you get the iPod, then you have to have the $40 car adapter, $30 FM receiver, $30 microphone, $100 Bose speakers, and why not spend another $15-$50 on a case? Gotta have the right bling bling.

There's not one thing in the list I'd plunk down 2 cents for, even it I had found the pennies on the street.
Some inventors obviously have far too much time on their hands.

I don't think Apple products are that overpriced these days. Though, you can still get a better deal elsewhere. Case in point: rather than get a iPod Shuffle, I picked up a Samsung YP-U1 at the same price that had both a screen and a better-designed USB jack.
