Preemptive Victimhood Rather than digging up old Reuters pieces about past events, the Sanity Inspector seems to have found one about future events. In the future. Or something like that: The D.C. Islamic Eternal Justice Endeavor against War and Stereotyping (DIEJEWS) yesterday issued a strongly worded statement condemning a rising backlash against Muslims following next month's nuclear bombing of Tel Aviv, Israel by Iran. The press release warned against an increase in anti-Muslim discrimination, hate crimes, and government harassment following the destruction of the unofficial Israeli capital city next month, as announced by the Iranian government.Posted by Rand Simberg at January 16, 2006 02:48 PM TrackBack URL for this entry:

"The D.C. Islamic Eternal Justice Endeavor against War and Stereotyping (DIEJEWS)" I know this is a parody, but it's absolutely on target. Unfortunately. Posted by Barbara Skolaut at January 16, 2006 05:24 PMThey won't need to launch it on a rocket. They will ask the Mexican military to bring it into the country: http://www.dailybulletin.com/news/ci_3404101 Posted by at January 16, 2006 07:59 PMHow could you be so insensative to those poor Iranians? They are just trying to deal with the changes in Iraq and Afghanistan. The only way for the Iranian people to get a fair hearing, against the backdrop of the illegal wars George Bush started, is to blow up Israel!! Rand, feel their pain, I beg you!!! The preceding message is brought to you by the nutburger, leftist, kneejerk, we hate GWB/America/flyover states, hooray for Brokeback Mountain crowd. Jointly based in Hollywood and in Nancy Pelosi's garage. ANYBODY who doesn't see the seriousness of this crowd with nukes has their head firmly placed up their old wazoo. The Iranian Government and Religious leadership, like most radicals, are willing to die for their cause. The U.N. Security Council may just grant that wish. The placement of Iran, geographically, combined with the missile technology we KNOW they have threatens half of Asia, all of the Middle East, and most of Europe. No matter how crazily liberal this area gets, they will never volunteer to be nuked to prove their "America Sucks" viewpoint. We'll disarm these folks the same way we did Iraq and the Taliban, with speed and accuracy. And after the target area is safe again, we'll hear what a murderous and evil regime the U.S. is. Blah, blah, blah. Posted by Steve at January 17, 2006 05:42 AMYou hit the nail on the head, Steve. We'll disarm them, make everyone safe again, and then get blamed for the destruction our air strikes caused! Personally, I think you take out the nuclear facilities, and the folks who greenlighted them, encouraging the next government to keep their fingers out of the yellowcake. Posted by Bob at January 17, 2006 07:14 AMMucho apreciado for the link, Rand! I'm basking in a transterrestrial-lanche right now. It's an honor to see that my rip-off of your schtick did not entirely fall on its face. Posted by The Sanity Inspector at January 17, 2006 08:26 AMToo bad the UN is so close to a huge population center, otherwise Iran could nuke them. Posted by Mac at January 17, 2006 02:14 PMSo...if the attack is (uh, will be) clearly identified as coming from Iran, will a complimentary organization condemning anti-semetic stereotyping appear when, slightly farther in the future (say, the flight time of an Israeli fighter-bomber), Tehran can be logically expected to similarly disappear...? complimentary organization condemning anti-semetic stereotyping Yes, it will be: The D.C.-Israeli Endeavor For Annihilation of Nearby Anti-semitic Type Islamic Countries.
