How Low Can He Go?

Just when you thought that twisted f**k Fred Phelps, and his "congregation" couldn't get any sicker, guess what they're protesting now?

A hate group based in Topeka, Kan. released a press release on Wednesday entitled “Thank God for 12 dead miners” and promises to picket the funerals for the slain men.

The hate group, which operates as Westboro Baptist Church, runs the website www.godhatesfags.com.

The release states, “God is laughing, mocking and deriding hypocritical fag-infested West Virginia.”

The release also says the WBC will picket the funerals of the miners.

When reached by phone, member Shirley Phelps-Roper confirmed that 10 to 15 picketers were making plans to protest at the funerals of the West Virginia miners.

When asked why the group was planning protests at the miners’ funerals, she responded with questions of her own.

According to the press release, “They died in shame and disgrace, citizens of a cursed nation of unthankful, unholy perverts who have departed from the living God to worship on ‘Brokeback Mountain’ and who have replaced the Bible with ‘The Da Vinci Code.’”

You know, military people tend to be pretty disciplined, so they're relatively safe when they do this at military funerals, but I'm not sure they'll get such a safe reception at a funeral for West Virginia coal miners. And while I don't approve of violence, it will be hard to feel much sympathy if they get exactly what they deserve. These people make Pat Robertson look like a benificent genius by comparison.

I predict this is the one where some of Phelp's people go home in a body bag.

In WV, the Union and Management shoot at each other during strikes and these people are Friends. Think what is in store for the Outlanders.

Are these people the Bizzaro version of that Usenet multi-newsgroup cross-poster who claimed proof of divine intervention in that previous mine disaster where, against all expectations, everyone *was* rescued...?

For a while, I liked the theory that Phelps and the Phelps clan (Phelpps family, with two 'p's, is the way I would spell it, like the "Addams family") were engaged in a very creative way to get money by deliberately provoking assaults upon themselves so that they might win damages in court. I also thought for a little while that, having formerly had something to do with the Democratic party, he was engaged in an elaborate bit of performance art, years in the making, with an eye towards discrediting the cultural enemies of the detestable Left.

But going up into the holler to taunt a bunch of grieving coal miners makes me think he and his followers might really be deranged.

Okay look. These people are just attention hogs, and said desire for attention has long been disconnected from anything approaching a logical end, or even an illogical end.* The time has long since passed when they should have been shunned by anyone with half a brain. However, as long as these creatures call their warren a "church" and Phelps calls himself a "reverend" the brainless, robotic media will always be reliable outlets for the Phelps clan grunts, mewls, and anal wastage.

*Though didn't Phelps used to be some sort of leftist activist, or some sort of lawyer for some Democrat spin-off group? It is possible he registered his "group" as a church so as to escape paying taxes, and that his "end" is the destruction of mainstream religion in this country (by holding his group's mad droolings as legitimate examples of religious expression), in order to pave the way for the social and intellectual utopia that religion-haters insist will naturally follow upon the abandonment by humanity of religious thought. I wouldn't put anything past "progressives."

It is all fun and Games for Phelps. He is going to keep goading his followers into stupidity until someone practices natural selection on one of his useful idiots and puts them on a hot rail to Hell.

Unfortunately, it will be they who pay the price when some good ole boy decideds enough is enough and not Satan's little butt-buddy Fred.

Posted by Mike Puckett at January 7, 2006 04:58 PM

My first thought was they'll be very sorry (at least for those final few seconds on their way to the 9th circle of HELL) if they do show up in West-by-God Virginia and picket a dead miner's funeral.

My second thought was I hope any WVA state troopers there have to tie their shoes - repeatedly. I know the locals will be doing so, several times if necessary.

I'm going to bed now - with a big smile on my face. :-)

My first thought was that it was parody - I mistook Westboro Baptist for Landover Baptist.

Then I was appalled.

ALL MEDIA, CITIZENS, AND FAMILIES OF WEST VIRGINIA AND AROUND THE WORLD, AS HARD AS IT MAY BE, NEED TO CLOSE THEIR EYES TO THESE IGNORANT POOR EXCUSES FOR HOMOSAPIENS. THEY MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS THEIR DAMNED OPINIONS AND REBEL AGAINST THEIR OWN COUNTRY, BUT THEY ARE ATTACKING THE VERY THING THAT GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO SPEAK THEIR MINDS. THEY MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO HURT OTHERS WITH THEIR CRUEL WORDS, BUT WE ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO IGNORE THOSE WORDS. THE WBC IS A CULT MASKED BEHIND A CHRISTIAN NAME. IT'S SAD THE DEVIL IS SO SCARED IT HAS TO USE GOD'S NAME TO MASK ITSELF FROM THE WORLD. THEIR PLAN IS TO PROTEST AND CREATE UPHEAVAL SO THAT CITIZENS OR FAMILIES ACT VIOLENTLY TOWARDS THEIR CULT MEMEBERS. MOST OF THESE MEMEBERS ARE BLOOD RELATED TO THEIR LEADER PHELPS. HE AND 11 OF HIS CHILDREN ARE LAWYERS AND HAVE CREATED THIS SCAM OF A CULT TO SUE CITIES FOR LACK OF PROTECTION WHEN OUTRAGED CITIZENS LAY THE SMACK DOWN ON THEM DURING PROTESTS. I CANNOT IMAGINE THE GRIEF AND PAIN THAT THESE FAMILIES ARE EXPERIENCING. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NO DIRECT TIES TO THE MINERS OR THEIR FAMILIES I FEEL AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF GRIEF FOR THESE FAMILIES AND MY COMMUNITY. I KNOW BUCKHANNON PEOPLE AND I KNOW IT IS GOING TO BE VERY HARD FOR THEM NOT TO BE ANGERED BY THESE EVIL PROTESTORS. I BEG TO YOU BUCKHANNON AND THE MINERS FAMILIES, AS ONE OF YOUR OWN, PLEASE WITH GOD BEHIND YOU AND FOR THE MEMORY OF THESE FALLEN MINERS PLEASE IGNORE THESE HATEFULL BEINGS. DO NOT GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT. GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE AND HE WANTS YOU TO BE A BETTER PERSON AND NOT LET EVIL TEMPT YOU INTO THEIR HELL. IT IS YOUR TURN TO FIGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY. FIGHT THE URGE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THESE PEOPLE. THEY DON'T EVEN EXSIST! THEY DON'T EVEN EXSIST! MAY GOD CONTINUE TO HEAL RANDALL!

Buckhannon Native, I think you say a lot of important things. A gentle suggestion for you, offered with kindness--

All caps makes it hard for others to be able to tell when one sentence ends and another begins. If you would please just be a little more selective in your use of the capslock and shift keys, it would make your message more easily read by the people you want to reach.

To the church in Kansas, I would like to add that I would like to know what God you all serve because it is not defiently the same god we serve . Wishing and praying for deaths such as these just is not to godly I am a coal miner too in WV that says that they need to pray about their own churches hate unstead of praying and rejoycing upon the death of us coal miners, just think of their families because you have families too. To end this statement I would like to say again that I am glad I dont serve the same person that you do because to me I think that your staements is of the devil.

Sincerely
James C. Lusk
