Have you thought of using Haloscan? I can't decide what I want to do about that. I've seen to many PHP security holes so I'm thinking of trying to get rid of PHP completely. Not many good alternatives though.

Isn't that a server-based service? I prefer to maintain control over my own comments, including database and storage. One of these years I'm going to switch over to Wordpress, but for now MT with blacklist pretty much has things under control (or did until this latest wave of driveby blog_spotters). What's frustrating to me is that Blog_spot doesn't seem to give a damn.

Yea, its server based. I just installed the latest MT for a new blog I'm setting up (news on that latter) and its definitely not as simple as it used to be. I'm thinking about moving to Plone just to get away from PHP.
