Get Out The Popcorn

Well, maybe John Kerry is afraid to sue, but now he's on the receiving end of a lawsuit for defamation.

Does the statute of limitations not apply in this case, since the defamation was entered into a permament public record, and therefore is still accessible? Otherwise, I think the right to sue expired 30-some years ago...

I haven't read the brief, but my impression is that the defamation occurred last fall, in the wake of the documentary that Kerry and the campaign attempted to keep off the air.

I'm surprised how many issues still linger from last year's elections. I guess in the good old days, nobody in the media would have bothered to follow these stories once the election was over.

Ahh, you are correct, Rand. I had only made it through the first 25 points of the brief, which mentioned that Kerry's testimony in the 1971 "Winter Soldier Investigation" as being false and defamatory. The heart of the suit doesn't come up until point #79.
