So all those blogs that banged on about the rest of the nasty world not caring about America, was basically just a bunch of crap made up by the right wing blogsphere. How typical.

Yeah, that evil right-wing blogosphere. The nerve of it. You tell' em, anonymous coward.

The more I thought about it, the more I thought to myself "you know, it's not really other countries that should be offering assistance. They're not as rich as us, after all".

However, all the bleeding-hearts members of the Screen Actor's Guild that whined and complained about the United States' "unilateral" actions after the tsunami, and praised the inept UN efforts, should put their money where their collective mouths are now that such a tragedy has hit here.

I heard on the news this morning that a few actors have already pledged or given $1M each to the effort, but I don't recall any of the names being Baldwin, Garofolo, or Sarandon.

I'd imagine their publicists will probably get on their cases to donate now that other actors have started. Then again, it doesn't appear that some of these people have PR folks, based on the bile they spew...

Don't you mean the Film Actors' Guild, John?

And as for that evil right wing blogosphere...

Well, NZ Bear's site has logged $264,844 in contributions to various charities so far as I write this. It's probably not all from "right-wingers" but this effort was pushed by Hugh Hewitt on his radio show yesterday.

I kind of wish people would stop criticizing and either help out or shut up.

I heard that Nicholas Cage has ponied up a cool million. Good job there. But if you're hoping for the left leaning Hollywooders to put their money where there mouth is, remember that most of them were going to leave when Bush was elected the first time.

No, I'm pretty sure he means the Screen Actors' Guild.

...you know, the one whose members don't obvuiously have hollow wooden heads -- until they open their mouths.
