Speaking Of Anniversaries
I didn't note it, but Saturday was the sixtieth anniversary of the first atomic explosion, at Trinity Site in New Mexico. It was also the thirty-sixth anniversary of the launch of Apollo XI.

Re: the Trinity explosion, I've been 'blogging like it's 1945' for the development of the atomic bomb, since about the first of July. (at 2020hindsight.org/category/1945) Also was at the open house at Trinity Site in New Mexico. Did a sound tour, am preparing the audio right now and will upload a few MP3 files when that's complete.
And we did mention, as we were on our way there, that this was the anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch, too.
