A Gitmo Primer
Lileks explains:
Q: What is Gitmo?
A: Contrary to what some suggest, it does not stand for "Git mo' Peking chicken for Muhammad, he wants a second portion." It stands for "Guantanamo," a facility the United States built to see if the left would ever care about human rights abuses in Cuba. The experiment has apparently been successful.
It gets better.

I fell over laughing reading this. Great stuff!
You *can* make stuff like this up, but it's hard!
Thanks Rand for bringing us material like this...

Ouch. One of James' more cutting pieces:
Q: When did they build this place?
A: After Sept. 11, 2001.
Q: That date seems familiar for some reason. Did something happen?
A: Not really. You can roll over and go back to sleep.

*LIBERAL IDIOT ALERT* Uh, I have an incredibly naive question about Gitmo. Does the US pay Cuba to have a base there? If so, does this not violate the sanctions against business transactions with said nation? And if not, are we forcing our presence on Cuba through strength of arms? Perhaps I should refrain from further commentary until I find out which of the above is the case...
