Strange Rain

Billie Holiday sang a song called "Strange Fruit," about lynchings in the south, with black bodies hanging from trees.

Well, there's a black neighborhood in northern Ohio where white bodies fall out of the sky.

Because suicide is an extremely narcissistic act. The horror of people down below on finding a dead stranger falling into their backyard, just doesn't enter into it.

The issue isn't race -- it's a sad statement on the human condition today (or any era, in fact).

Suicide is just the beginning of their woes.
