Beginning Of The End?

The French are already privately admitting that the EU vote will lose.

If the Dutch vote it down as well, how long before they decide they want the guilder back?

[Update a few minutes later]

Mark Steyn has further thoughts (registration required).

10 minutes?

Or sooner.

True, they're likely to vote 'non', but it's because they think the constitution has been watered down too much and has too much 'Anglo-Saxon' influence.

It is an amusing Irony that the French will vote Non, for exactly the opposite reason to why many Brits would vote No.

Go figure.

I don't know too many people myself who want to move away from the Euro though. It is damn useful, especially if you are in a cross national border services business. I don't think too many people want to go back to the pre-Schnengen days either.

Is it me or do the French just DISAGREE with everything? I am no Euro supporter or detractor, but weren't the French way out in front on the E.U. hoping for more money in the Paris coffers?

Anyway I think we should change the old disparaging term for the French to:

Cheese Eating CONTRARIAN Surrender Monkies.
