Too Sweet A Deal

It's not a new story, but Steven Moore has a good roundup of the current state of the societal parasites and despoilers of the environment that comprise the American sugar industry.

The worst of it is that corn syrup is a 'bad' sugar and sucrose is a 'good' one, so that corn syrup being cheaper is very bad for our collective health.

At least that's what my biochem friends tell me!

Health, shmealth. I hate how high-fructose corn syrup tastes.

Pop tasted much better when I was younger and they put it in glass and made it from real sugar.

Hold the plasticizer and the corn crap please!

I don't get why you people do not use the real deal sucrose. You got lots of land, all the climates. I mean, you could plant sugar cane, or beets like here in Yurop.

What is it with you people and your fascination with corn and soya? :)

Now I got reminded of soya "milk" and tofu. Yewwww.
