I must be dumb. Why does it _take_ so long to do this? Nineteen year old me was certifed by the USMC to lug around every weapon you could find in a rifle platooon after what was, really, one day per weapon at ITS.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere that El Al, who cares more about hijacking and less about offending people, does not arm their pilots.

Instead, I think they shut and seal the cockpit doors before the flight, and don't open them until after it lands. No one can get in: no reason to carry a weapon.

I perfer to bar the door AND arm the Pilot. A little cheap redundancy is a good thing.

A $500 .45 ACP pistol is cheap insurance against another 9/11.
