Beware
I just realized that today's the Ides of March.
Why yes, yes I am trying to avoid work. Why do you ask?

The Gregorian calendar never used the Roman system of dating from the kalends, nones and ides of the month. (The ides is only the 15th in March, May, July and October, it's the 13th in other months.) So, today is actually VI ante diem nones Martius MMDCCLVIII Ab Urbae Condita, when properly using the calendar of the Republic as reformed by C. Julius Caesar. And Idus Martius won't be for another 13 days.

Jeez, Raoul - and I thought I was a pedant.

Gee, thanks. That was a wonderful thing to read 2 and a half hours before my dynamics final...

One wonders why you're reading blogs (particularly mine) two hours before your dynamics final.
Sorry, no sympathy...

Well, with the amount of studying I've done, if I don't understand it now, I'm not going to gain anything from stressing about it for the next two hours.

'Is that a dagger I see before me? Come. let me ...' Oh, never mind. Wrong tragedy...

Why? They still had plenty of time to start studying.

Just stay away from the Senate and you'll be fine. ;)

There was one time as an undergraduate when I got absolutely perfect grades on physics and math finals. It was my first semester sophomore year.
I came down with some disease that had me sleeping nearly around the clock just before finals. My schedule during finals looked like this: get up to eat and take finals. Sleep the rest of the time.
Yes, I studied throughout the semester.
Last minute cramming is one of those rituals that appears to do more harm than good.
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. Try not to drink too much Guinness, everyone. :-)

Try not to drink too much Guinness, everyone.
Seriously, is there such a thing?

I'm not a drinker, so I'll watch Guinness instead. What'll it be - Bridge on the River Kwai, or Star Wars?
