I Am An English Genius A genius at English, that is--not a genius who is English. You scored 100% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 77% Expert! Hmmm... Unfortunately it doesn't tell me what my score actually was. And I guess that if I were a little older, I'd have more competition. I wonder how many people who write in here, will score high marks on this test? It would seem most of us would. Thanks for that link Rand, it was fun!! Posted by Steve at March 7, 2005 07:46 AMI got a 100%, 100%, 93%, 72% and was born in '76. I am only advanced. Posted by Dave at March 7, 2005 10:40 AM93% beginner (damn that tricky question 4!) I'm a bit suspicious of the test, although I scored apparently *very* poorly with my raw score, I got 99 percentiles across the board. "Li'l Bit Which is a *very* strange distribution. But my percentiles were: "My test tracked 4 variables. How you compared to other people your age and gender: As in: huh? Looks pretty buggy to me. "You scored 93% Beginner, 93% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 55% Expert! " Im not a native english speaker, self-taught and i never lived in any english-speaking country for extended periods, born in '78 I'd call that test bollocks :P Posted by kert at March 7, 2005 12:08 PMOther fun things include the test engine sometimes gives you 0 even if you got the right answer, and you score twice as much for getting the right answer when there's more than one possibility, than for one where only one answer is correct... It could be buggy, or the great unwashed majority are extremely illiterate. But then, that would be the majority of test takers. Hmm...I guess my score 86, 93, 93, 88 might be bogus. Posted by Jeff Arnall at March 7, 2005 01:08 PMI got: * 99% had lower Beginner scores. Rand was the other 1%. >=( Posted by nimcha at March 7, 2005 06:46 PMI scored 100% Beginner, 93% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 88% Expert. I scored higher that 99% on Beg. What gives? This test is still buggy. cube dis wasn't no hard thang to do. I gots 100 on all dat. And my peeps wonder what be goin' on wif dah lang-gig we use. Posted by ice-trey at March 8, 2005 01:55 PMAdvanced Beginner: You scored 100% Beginner, 53% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 72% Expert! Hmmm, English is not my mother tongue. But perhaps I should attend an English grammer class. Posted by Carl at March 9, 2005 02:21 AMPost a comment |
