Boycott

I don't link CNN that much anyway, but I'm totally on board with this. What few links I give CNN will henceforth be zero until the Eason Jordan matter is resolved satisfactorily. At this point, to me that means getting his walking papers, unless the transcript truly shows a massive misunderstanding.

Of course, I think that he should have been canned after admitting that he covered up Saddam's crimes in return for access. After the Dan Rather whitewash, I've reached a point of zero tolerance for this kind of crap.

"After the Dan Rather whitewash, I've reached a point of zero tolerance for this kind of crap". If you are still going to follow the MSM at all, may I suggest you swallow your pride, because nothing is going to happen to Eason Jordan. Has anything happened to Dan Rather? You have your blog to show your outrage, but MSM doesn't give a rip about what you have to say.

to AllenS,

Not entirely true. If only Rand and a few other cranky folks insist that MSM big honchos say, uh, things that are actually true, and avoid saying things that are not then the effect on CBS and CNN is likely to go unnoticed.

However, if many people become aware that CBS and CNN have officials making statements that are demonstrably false and fabricated then perhaps the hoi polloi will stop watching CBS and CNN. That would be a problem for the nuanced truffle-eaters in Davos.

Jorden is an honorable man.

He got bought by Saddam Hussein.

He stayed bought.

My point being, is that MSM just doesn't care about the truth, or what anybody with a blog has to say. Yes, they are losing viewers, but they are still turning a good profit churning out garbage. If Fox news picks up on this, you'll hear the same blah, blah, blah from MSM. They'll just keep quiet and eventually this will go away. For them to fire Jordan, they would have to admit not only that lie, but the lies of most of his reporting. Dan Rather is still on TV.

Just wanted to point out that None of the controversial Dan Rather documents were proven false. Some blogger simply fabricated that story about the type of font used. All of a sudden, the documents become the central point of controversy rather than the President. Lastly, I realize you love our country but if you truly love it, try not to deny the obvious. By that I mean that our President's crimes far outweigh anything Dan Rather or that other guy did. None of it is a secret but you do have to dig for the real truth.

Brawn:

You're kidding..., right? Tell me your comment was a Rand-esque "Routers" humor post (if so, it's quite good...).

WTF? What's your definition of proven? First of all the burden of proof is with CBS, not the bloggers. Second, it is clear to any fair minded person that the typography arguement 'proved' that the docs were frauds.

WTF? Your sentence doesn't make any sense.

That is true. The MSM ran a story based on fabricated evidence. Therefore the level of credibility of the orginal claim is reduced to zero. The controversy rightly focuses on the fraudlent documents, the MSM, and the political motiviations behind the orginal story.

Sounds like you think that Dan can lie as much as he wants about Bush. WTF?

Even if you don't like GWB, or the Republicans, etc, etc, you need to take a deep breath, slow down, and rethink what you "know".

Do you really want to have the MSM making stuff up?

Do you really want to defend persons who lie?

Get a grip dude.

Yep no secret that the CBS documents are fakes. It took a little work by bloggers to get that fact out. It's a shame Rather and his 60 Minutes II team were unwilling to dig for the truth.

The delay in the Davos transcript is evidence to me that the World Economic Forum was simply a boondoggle for the worldwide politician class and had nothing to do with actually addressing economic issues in the world today.
